ELMA®+ is a telechel based on elastin hydrolysate, featuring special functional groups that combine enhanced solubility with radical polymerization capability. Compared to ELMA®, it offers superior solubility and broader options for modulation. ELMA®+ dissolves readily at concentrations of 30% and higher and enables precise tuning of hydrogel properties after polymerization. Free carboxylic groups additionally allow targeted modifications, such as influencing cell responses or introducing secondary chemical crosslinking to fine-tune mechanical properties.
